São Paulo, October 15th – CA Indosuez Wealth (Brazil) SA DTVM (or the “Bank”) announced at the 1st Wealth & Beyond Americas Summit the great importance of the Brazilian market within its regional development plan. The occasion also marked the 70th anniversary of its history in Brazil. Globally, Brazilian clients represent over USD 6.5 Billion of AuM for Indosuez Wealth Management, the wealth management brand of the Crédit Agricole group.

In Brazil, for the first time since his appointment as Indosuez’s Global Head of Americas, Frédéric Lamotte highlights the desire to expand business in the region alongside Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank.

According to the Boston Consulting Group 2019 report, 8.2% growth of Wealth in Latin America is expected by 2023 with assets totaling USD 7.7 trillion, increasing the number of millionaires by 9.1%. The personal wealth of Brazilians increased by 7% in 2018, above the global average of 2%, reaching the USD 2 trillion threshold. “Brazil represents 6% of the world wealth, and the Latin America Region represents 12%. Our ambition is not only to grow in Brazil but also in the region. By multiplying synergies with all of the Group experts, we wish to meet all our clients’ needs,” says Frédéric Lamotte.

The Indosuez Wealth & Beyond Summit is an annual event bringing together our main clients and partners to attend lectures on investment trends and forward-looking issues such as education, health, environment and human resources. The Summit has been held in Europe for 20 years and in Asia for 10 years and now, following Indosuez Wealth Management Group’s strategy of strengthening the ongoing commitment in the region, we chose São Paulo to host the first Wealth & Beyond Americas Summit. This very successful event will now become an annual hallmark of Indosuez’s commitment to the region.

Brazil at the epicenter of the 1st Americas Summit

The Americas Wealth & Beyond Summit gathered several speakers to tackle the growing concern regarding the inter-generational impact of the society’s actions and to foster debate on new ways of doing business which can culminate in “A Better World”- the theme of the Summit.

Amongst the speakers invited were Samba Tech CEO Gustavo Caetano and futurist Jaqueline Weigel, who both brought insights on how simple thoughts and actions can have the power to transform the world. Lectures by Dr Maria Isabel Achatz, Head of Cancer Genetics Unit at Hospital Sírio-Libanês; and Dr Miguel Nicolelis, Professor of Neuroscience, Duke School of Medicine, addressed how scientific and technological breakthroughs are transforming the future and health, with the potential to transform today's medicine and impact the labor market with increased longevity and automation

To discuss the challenges and local economic opportunities, as well as the necessary structural reforms for the development of the country, Sao Paulo University Professor Fernando Limongi shared his inspiring forward looking vision with our clients, also sharing his views with Indosuez experts, Dr. Marie Owens Thomsen and Vladimir Caramaschi during a panel discussion.

For Frédéric Lamotte the event was the perfect opportunity to cover fundamental topics and engage with local leaders as we aim to shape a better world. “Some companies and leaders around the world have already understood that our role in changing and making the world a better place is absolutely necessary and urgent. I am very happy that we have raised important issues that may have planted a seed in each of our Summit participants. The power to transform the world is in everyone's hands, sometimes what we need is just a simple push”.

70th Anniversary of history in Brazil

This year the Wealth management business line celebrates more than 70 years of history in the country. Our roots in the region date back to 1948, with the acquisition of a stake in Crédit Foncier do Brasil e da América do Sul by the Banque de l’Indochine, that merged with Banque de Suez in 1974 to form Banque Indosuez, which was then purchased by the Crédit Agricole Group. Today, Indosuez Wealth Management Group is present in Brazil through CA Indosuez Wealth (Brazil) S.A. DTVM, its direct subsidiary. CA Indosuez Wealth (Group) brings together all of Crédit Agricole group's wealth management entities and is itself a subsidiary of Crédit Agricole CIB SA, Crédit Agricole Group’s Corporate and Investment Banking arm.
